YOGYAKARTA — Two local MSME products from Yogyakarta, a bag brand and a batik label, have successfully entered the international market.
Through Centrestage 2023, held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 6 to 9 September 2023, the two local brands participated as exhibition collaborators.
The exhibition is considered one of the most prestigious events on the international stage, said Indonesia-based spokesperson Andis Utomo (31), originally from Kediri, on Monday (11/9/2023).
The two local brands, Batik Shiroshima and Mimpi Bags, are managed directly by experienced young professionals and highly skilled experts.
“They are worthy new contenders among local MSMEs ready to expand into the global market,” he states.
In terms of quality, patterns, and refined craftsmanship, both brands are aligned with current trends, attracting strong interest from consumers.
The founders of Mimpi Bags and Shiroshima are also experienced and well established in the fashion industry, he added.
Andis expressed hope that the government would take a more active role in supporting and overseeing the development of small and medium enterprises.
“Let us support local products created by our nation’s talents by purchasing and using them,” he concluded. (Zainul Fuad)
